This morning on my drive to work, I heard the new Chris Tomlin song: "Whom Shall I Fear?" This song invariably makes me tear up and swell with some sense of belonging and pride. Belonging because I'm a daughter of the King; pride because even though I don't deserve it, He chooses me. Here are the lyrics to the chorus:
I know who goes before me
I know who stands behind me
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
The one who reigns forever
He is a friend of mine
The God of angel armies
Is always by my side
When I think about how true that is~~truly~~Whom shall I fear? So why should I worry about funding the adoption? The God of angel armies is on our side. I have heard that our God is working on an amazing gift for us right now!
Should I worry about the timing of how quickly things are moving? No~~my God who can move mountains and causes the sun to come up every morning can induce the President of Haiti to sign our paperwork.
Should I fret about time lost with my sweet boys? God says "no", that my strength is in His name, not in my own ability to parent or provide comfort for my children.
So maybe this could apply to your life as well. Maybe the God of angel armies, who is always by our side is the answer to all our problems. I believe He is.
