Passports are Done!

Passports are done, and ^^^this is how we feel about it!^^^^ So cannot wait to hug their little necks! On Thursday we received the email from our agency about passports and Friday morning received another email stating we had been submitted to USCIS (homeland security).

The investigation at USCIS typically takes around 1 month, although a friend of mine's family recently had their case completed in 10 days. Our situation may be a bit more complex, since we have two boys, with different situations and backgrounds to review. So, 2 weeks would be fantastic, but 4 weeks is realistic.

After we receive USCIS approval, our file is moved to the Consular Unit for a VISA appointment. The VISA is what allows the boys to enter the U.S. Since Jason and I have both met and visited with the boys before, their VISA will allow them to immediately become U.S. citizens. :)

Receiving the VISA appointment has taken around 3 weeks, but again--my friend received her appointment in 5 days, so....just saying some fast moving government officials wouldn't go amiss here.

About 5 days after the VISA appointment, we can go pick those sweet boys up. So far, we've discussed leaving Louisville on a Friday and returning on a Monday. We plan to come home during the day time, and welcome all friends and family to meet us at the airport for a big WELCOME HOME airport party! (more to follow about that!)

Please pray that the investigation at USCIS goes very well, quickly and smoothly and we gain our VISA appointment soon. Also please pray for Desaray's passport to be expedited quickly, as she is going with us to pick up the boys, but we were waiting on her driver's license to apply for her passport (applying tomorrow!)
