Kimmie D is in Haiti this week. So. Jealous. She's hugging and kissing on my babies while I'm popping corn and driving to work everyday.
J's birthday is coming up, so we sent his gift with Kim. It was two baseball gloves, a few baseballs in a backpack. If that sounds odd, it is Haiti. Pitching ball sounded like a good activity for a 10 year old to me.
Per Kim, J's favorite part of his gift was the birthday card. Was it the Captain America theme? Nope. Was it money enclosed? Nope. It was our names.
Our names. Each signed by every person in our family. Jason. Chassidy. Desaray. Jackson. Riley. Weston. Grannie. Mamaw & Papaw.
Kim said he asked about each individual. He asked what "Mamaw and Papaw" means. He's very sweetly asked about each of us.
J's interest in us reminds me of us and our relationship with God. He sweetly invites us to learn more about him. He has written His name in a thousand different ways for us to learn. He has left a book for us to learn about Him, and sent His own son to learn more about relationship with Him.
Today I pray that I yearn for God like J yearns for a family. That I follow after Him and seek Him out in all that I do.
